A series of vases in a variety of colour combinations that rock and roll and spin and lean, but are kept from passing-out and falling over by the hemispheres at their bases being filled with water.
Little, precariously upright architectural fragments, they are the much loved offsrping of an amorous encounter between the cherished memories of a particularly handsome Subbuteo player, and a rather beautifully drawn Composite Order. They were designed as miniature totem polls, little columns that got turned upside down at some point, and couldnt get back up the right way.
We produced two series of the Madam Rocking Vases, MMRV1 with plain colours, and here MMRV2, with a run of 100 vases. Each is individually glazed in reams and rivers of lascivious pigment. Sometimes smothering, sometimes accenting, sometimes gashing and illuminating the form of the ceramic, they are little monuments to the liberating pleasures of copious, disorderly and wildly clashing cosmetics...
